View Removing Super Glue

Many gamers use superglue to mount figures on bases. While this works well, it also makes them nearly impossible to remount if they are glued to a hard surface, such as washers or coins. Here are some suggestions for breaking the cyanoacrylate bond.

1) Place the bases in a shallow tray, like a cookie sheet. Pour in hot water until it covers the base. Boiling water is probably excessive, but it does need to be hot. The water will degrade the bond, and the sudden heat change will cause an expansion that will help break the bond.

I’ve had some addition success by freezing the figures before putting them in hot water, thereby creating a further expansion - contraction situation.

The above method probably is your best bet if you want to preserve the paint job.

2) If you don’t care about the paint, try applying acetone, or a CA product sold in hobby stores called debonder.
