Build your web and search engine presence by becoming a MiniatureWargaming dot Com sponsor!

MiniatureWargaming offers its sponsors what no other miniatures site can or does: "naked" links with the anchor text of your choice on more than 5,000 highly ranked, Google indexed pages. Rather than delivering random traffic through banner ads, MiniatureWargaming helps build your business by improving your search engine rankings.

You see, the search engines rank the importance of a site based in part on the number of inbound links. A site with many such links will appear near the top of a keyword search, while one with few backlinks might appear on page 2, 3 or worse. Studies have shown that 90% of people using search engines never look beyond the third listing on the first page -- so if you're not on the first page, potential customers searching for products that you carry may never see your site's search engine listing.

MiniatureWargaming sponsors are listed in the center column of each and every page of the blog. The site gets more than 5,000 daily visits, and your text ad will be shown to each and every one.

But that's not really the point. The real key here is that the search engines will pick up and quantify these links back to your site. That, in turn will help to move your site closer to the holy grail of search engine marketing: the first spot on the first page of a search for relevant keywords.

Try it. Type "miniature wargaming" into Google and see what site appears in the first spot. Then type a keyword relevant to your own site, such as miniatures painting service, wargames terrain, or historical miniatures and see what turns up. If you're not in the first three listings, you're losing potential customers.

About the Miniature Wargaming Hobby

Miniature Wargaming is part of the "adventure games" hobby, which includes r ole p laying and board games. Wargamers recreate battles on the tabletop with toy soldiers, like a more complicated game of chess. Models range in height from 6mm to 28mm tall, with 15mm and 25mm being the most popular. There also is a growing interest in toy soldiers and military models, such as the 1/32 and 1/35 scale plastic soldiers from Conte, and Marx.

The most popular miniature wargames are fantasy and science fiction based, such as Warhammer, Warhammer 40K, Warmachine and The Lord of the Rings. World War II games such as Flames of War and Axis and Allies are new favorites. Other favorite historical periods include Napoleonics, the American Civil War, and ancients, such as Romans or Greeks. Other gamers enjoy miniature naval wargames, recreating battles like Trafalgar, Jutland and the Coral Sea.

Hobbyists research historical periods and paint their tiny soldiers in accurate uniforms. Others develop "historically realistic" rules sets or build scale battlefield terrain using model railroad techniques.

Some of the bigger hobby companies are Games Workshop, which produces Warhammer, Wargames Foundry and Old Glory Miniatures. Wizards of the Coast produces several lines of pre-painted miniatures games, such as the Star Wars and Dungeons and Dragons miniatures games, and a historical game with pre-painted miniatures: The new Axis and Allies game. Wizkids produces a fantasy collectable miniatures game, such as the Mage Knight and Heroclick fantasy games, the science fiction games MechWarrior and Rocketmen, as well as the quasi-historical Pirates of the Spanish Main.
