Infantry Action Rules 1925 - 1975
Rules Modern, Rules WWII
I sometimes feel nostalgic for wargaming in the late 1970 and in the 1980s. We had a much more limited selection of figures and rules back then, but there was something magical about going into the local hobby store and browsing through a rack of rules that had been lovingly typed out, mimeographed and presented in monochrome construction paper covers. The best were the productions from WRG. Production values were—by modern standards—terrible, but the rules themselves were well thought out and playtested.
(Hmm. Perhaps there is a lesson in this. Slick production doesn’t always equal a good game.)
Infantry Action Rules 1925 - 1975 dates back to the early 1970s. For some reason I seem to recall that they had a light green cover. But maybe my memory grows dim.
