I am thinking of making up some country roads for 15mm scale, and am not sure how wide I should make them…  The dirt road I live on is only about 10 feet wide, but I am not sure if that would be too narrow if made to scale.  I’d like to do some roads up for WWI/WWII and the ACW…  Any suggestions?  I would imagine that the roads were pretty narrow during the Civil War…  Any help would be very much appreciated.

perhaps you could think in “man widths”. If the roads near you could take, say four men marching side-by-side, then make the model road wide enough to accommodate four figures side-by-side.
