I’ve been working on this for a while now. Its not quite finished, but the stuff its lacking is rather ancillary. (Automatic movement rules for solo-play/large numbers of enemies, and some additional types of alien craft) All of the important rules adjustments and new craft are present.

Since I haven’t been able to test some of it yet, posting for feedback seems like a good idea. I’m wondering as to if the robot mode rules are balanced - in most of our tests, my friends have been unwilling to use the third form, and what people think of the new weapon concepts.

The original rules for Instant Thunder are still required to play.

The file seems to be broken, though I’m not too surprised - it was posted in the midst of the recent hacker attack. Fortunately, not only do I still have it, but an updated version as well.

Draft Two contains expanded information about the Zentradi aliens, and a system for automating their movement and combat. There are still a number of elements that require work but its a bit closer to finished than the last version.

You are the first person, other than myself, to post a variant system. It looks great (when I get a chance to try it out I will comment further).

I hope you are blazing a trail that others will follow.
