Thank you for the free game. I have read Roadside Picnic by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, and eagerly followed the development of the video games based on it. The rules are quite clearly worded, and the use of artwork in a amateur game is worthy of recognition.

However, there seems to be a notable oversight - how to determine initiative is not given. Who is the first to act in the alternating activations?

Would you be offended if I submitted a list of potential improvements? I have a degree in English, some experience with technical editing, and design games in my free time. (RPGLaboratory.com is a good source of feedback.) There are a number of elements that could be changed to both help emulate the setting and improve the technical presentation/readability of the rules.

Glad you like it.  I hope the image/text formatting remains tight in the download. Feel free to tweak whatever you feel needs improvement.

And Initiative is decided by highest d10 roll at the beginning of each turn.  Must have had a brain skip there - sorry.

Hi - I just gave these rules a whirl and enjoyed them. Good work. You can see a batrep and a review here:

Hi,
two more batreps. I am really enjoying using these rules.

A few additional bits to the rules, cross bow, very heavy pistol and heavy smgs.

Very nice - again. I’m inspired to do one myself.

For what it’s worth, I had these rule printed up at Lulu.com for about $6 each.  Amazing value, really. Especially when compared to Kinkos or Staples.
