Okay, time to (officially) branch out with the concept.

The speeds (and related maneuver space required) of this era’s aircraft make it a bit of a tougher nut to crack than the (relatively) slow/sedate pace of the WW1-era stuff.

Still, I believe that the basic concepts of the system (as elucidated in the ‘WWI aircombat’ thread) hold true - though I think that a marked diversion from the core WWI system will be required (concentrating more on pilot intent/desire and less on the actual physical location of the aircraft).

Let’s see what happens.

Comments welcome.

This is my current obsession, and the one (semi-)serious historical miniatures game in the Factory.

http://www.glewwe-castle.com/brawl-factory/ww1aircombat.html

The rules take a more generic view of aircombat so that regular grounder-pounder gamers can try/enjoy the genre without having to go to the trouble of learning to fly the airplane as in most other games (via its specific mechanics/system).

Rather than present the technical challenge of time/motion, this game tries to represent/capture the uncertainty, risk, and peril of sitting in a flammable collection of sticks and cloth a mile or more above the trenches while someone in a similar contraption is shooting bullets at you.

It is very much a work-in-progress—therefore any comments and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

It was this set of rules—mentioned on another thread a few months ago—that led to the creation of this forum, so…here they are!

http://www.glewwe-castle.com/brawl-factory/spacemarines.html

As the name suggests these are not in any way, shape, or form “serious” rules. They are simply another in what I imagine is a very large pile of homemade systems that gamers all around the world have invented / tinkered with so they can squish bugs or blast bots…

My thanks to John for allowing me space to hold discussions and make announcements concerning my little collection of games/rules.

Never having “gone public” before (and being a computer/internet klutz) I’m not sure best how to organize things, so apologies if this isn’t polished to a fine sheen: I’m hoping to just remove most of the burrs and rough edges!

The games/rules in question can be found at: http://www.glewwe-castle.com/brawl-factory/ .

The site/page/whatever-you-call-it isn’t all that polished either (just like the Factory itself)—I’m just mooching off of a relative who is being nice enough to host/post my stuff, so regular updates and such will not be a part of the plan. Still, I hope that—with the aid/kindness of John here—it’ll be good enough to allow a little fun to be had.

If you have a general question/comment, please post it here. Anything concerning a specific game should, I think, be best handled in a topic/folder for that game…so I guess the next thing on my list would be to go start some, eh?

Onward and upward…
